Client Services
The Sacramento Life Center offers a variety of services to our clients.
All services are free; no insurance is requested or required.
- Medical-grade Pregnancy Testing
Six days a week, the Sacramento Life Center offers urine-based pregnancy testing for "walk-in" clients and for those who schedule appointments. Testing results are quick, accurate, and confidential.
- Information, Education & Support Services for Women and Men
The Sacramento Life Center offers free medical services, education, and support for women who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant. These services are personalized for each individual and offers information and education about parenting, adoption and abortion.
The conversation between one of Sacramento Life Center’s peer counselors and each client builds on the client’s unique situation and needs. Peer counselors are understanding, compassionate, professional, and non-judgmental and help bring a sense of calm to clients who are experiencing a wide range of emotions.
The Life Center also has trained men who invite the boyfriend/husband of the female client to talk about their own questions, issues, and circumstances. These volunteers encourage the husbands/boyfriends to explore their opinions about their partner’s pregnancy and their own potential fatherhood.
- Non-Diagnostic Ultrasounds to Confirm Pregnancy
The Sacramento Life Center has R.D.M.S. certified sonographers that, with licensed medical oversight, provide non-diagnostic ultrasounds for pregnant clients. The ultrasound procedure uses high frequency sound waves to view the fetus. This "window" inside the client’s uterus allows the sonographer to date the age of the fetus with a high degree of accuracy. Clients are able to view the real time images on a flat screen monitor during the sonogram, and are presented with ultrasound pictures of the growing human life within them.
The Sacramento Life Center has a long and successful partnership with a variety of community organizations that can help the women and men who come to one of our clinics. These referrals include help for getting medical insurance and finding a doctor for pre-natal care and other medical services, maternity homes, clothing, furniture, education and other needed help.
The Sacramento Life Center also provides new parents with new and used baby clothing, and baby supplies.
Some of the organizations we work in conjunction with and refer to are:
- The Birthing Project
- Birth and Family Health Center
- The Effort
- WIC
- Sacramento Food Bank
- Mercy Women’s Center
- Mercy Education Resource Center
- Sutter Adolescent Family Life Program
- Medi-Cal
- Gabriel Project
- WEAVE
- Bishop Gallegos Maternity Home
- Clara’s House
- Powerhouse Ministries
- Roseville Home Start, Inc.
- Sacramento District Dental foundation
- Tubman House
- The Gathering Inn
- Mercy Perinatal Recovery Network
- Loaves and Fishes
- Mother Teresa Mothering Home
Another one of our valued community referrals is to organizations that can help pregnant moms (and dads) consider an adoption plan for their preborn child.
Mobile Pregnancy Clinic
In November, 2010, the Sacramento Life Center launched our Mobile Pregnancy clinic. Hundreds of donors gave over $100,000 to help us purchase and retrofit a 32-foot RV. We now have a second licensed health clinic, and our dream of being more available to more women and men throughout the Sacramento valley has come to "Life." The Mobile Clinic offers all the same client services as the Sacramento clinic. Clients can "walk-in" or schedule with the Mobile Clinic according to the location that is most convenient for them. (To make an appointment online click here: or to see the schedule of the Mobile clinic, click here):
The Mobile Clinic is available for health fairs, and special community or church events.
Abortion Recovery Services
Life is forever changed for most women and men who have been involved in an abortion decision. Oftentimes feelings of guilt, shame, regret and fear are experienced by someone who has been involved in a past abortion. That is why at the Sacramento Life Center we are extremely sensitive to the needs of each individual. Through one-on-one peer counseling, group support and a variety of resources, we can help facilitate healing and recovery.
